I want to buy a digital camera. What can I get?

I can't afford cannon or nikon at the moment as their prices are out of my reach & I won't buy samsung, sony, lumix or benq as they're not really good. What do you think of fujifilm, Kodak or Olympus?
I want something not more expensive than 300 bucks maximum. I want it with zoom & crisp & clear snapshots & would last me a life time. I take snapshots of everything for so long with my cellphone but I want a digi cam now. Thanks for helping me guys

I want to find the best quality digital camera for my money. I did do a Good Housekeeping search but it was not helpful. I want something along the lines of Good Housekeeping where someone has tested the product. Is there a photo /camera organization/association even out there? I want to get the best digital camera for my money and what I can afford.
