I want to make my own laser gun for cheap lol were should i start?

I found a video on you tube you can replace the light in a laser pointer with a blue ray laser eye and it well make a blue laser it actually can burn things like make something smoke from about 15 feet away lol! I mean I could get a bread board form radio shack and just build a laser pointer on it in much larger scale rite just use more powerfull componets! but I wish there were some half way built stuff I could use to achiev this without practically inventing the whole thing hahah! I just want to light things on fire from like 200 feet away nothing to powerfull just for fun
