I was joking with my dad, and he threatened me? Help?

I always joke around with my parents, and since I turned 18 recently I was like "Aw, mom told me that I can't get a massive tattoo! Don't you think it's unfair?!" obviously being not serious and he goes
"Well if you do, you can find somewhere else to live" angrily and I told him that I was only joking and he said that "There are consequences to actions" and I don't know if I'm right to feel hurt.

It's like he couldn't wait to tell me that, and he ALWAYS does things like this. It's like no matter what I do he has to threaten in some way.

What do you think I should do?
Am I wrong to feel hurt? :(
 
Some people are like that (especially us guys) they threaten you because you are getting bigger and stronger, but he still wants to let u know that hes in charge. Its a whole pecking order thing. Bullshit if u ask me.
