I was lied to by Ca. child support for 3 yrs. & ended up paying interest. can I sue
for my interest & damages? I became disabled & my SSDI was $300 over my court ordered $500 a month payment. I asked CSS would pay for my arrears and I was told no then again no a year later, then I was told if I pushed it they would take me back to court and get my support raised to $800 to cover the $300. There was a levi on my bank account a hold on my passport and my drivers license, and they garnished $50 then $80 dollars out of my SSDI. Also my credit report showed there mistake. A month ago I got a new case worker and I again asked about the overage on my SSDI And she informed me about a law that says the overages go to my arrears and my balance is $-2,850.00. I got behind for one year out of seven and I was treated as a dead beat dad and because of this I had problems sleeping, deppression and I could'nt live a normal life. Can I sue California Child Support Services for the intrest and mental "something"?
