i was told that i don't need a converter box for my 42" plasma TV (LG 42pc3dv)...?

... but without cable hookup, i get NOTHING. any advice on how to get reception? I live in an apartment complex. thanks.

Do you have your tv set up on cable? Go to your menu, and change it to air. That should pick up signals for you

Make sure you have placed the Antenna/Receiver/Transmitter of the Tv at correct place. It's a small cylindrical shaped stick which is plugged in the Tv.
