If a recipe says to cook in the ovenproof baking dish for 40-50 min

until golden brown shouid I put lid on? It is for millet date and pumpkin porridge. It has quite a lot of liquid and I'm concerned the liquid may not evaporate if there is a lid on the baking dish. The recipe says nothing at all about a baking dish lid.
