if christians claim they have the Holy spirit and this one promises the gift of

No. And they can't predict lottery numbers and give the winnings to charity either, so don't ask.

Christians no longer have the ability to prophesy...it was a gift during Bible times that died out with the apostles as did speaking in tongues. 1 Corinthians 13:8 "...whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with..."

There are several gifts of the Spirit which Christians have, thanks to the Holy Spirit. However, one does not "possess" ALL the gifts of the Spirit. Each Christian is gifted with ANY combination of the gifts, and we are even told to SEEK the "higher" ones, too!

So, the gift of prophecy is merely ONE of many gifts, and not ALL Christians have it. And the gift of prophecy is NOT what you seem to view it as, some sort of mystical fortune telling. Prophecy entails SPIRITUAL and Biblical prophecy, things related to God. It has nothing to do with lottery tickets, who will win the Triple Crown, or if you are going to meet a "tall, dark, and handsome man" tomorrow.

As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
MARANATHA! Come, Lord Jesus, COME!

If a true prophet could be found, possibly. Since a true prophet probably hasn't been seen in hundreds of years its kind of an academic question.
