...used in a court? I have a project where I have to defend a imaginary client who relates to the New Jersey v T.L.O case and I want to know....if a reasonable search is used, on what basis is it allowed to be used in a court lawfully. And on a side note I want to know if T.L.O confessed to the selling of marijuana at a police station...were her miranda rights known to her and was there a lawyer even present? I'm not sure but I keep having a feeling that her confession to the police was invalid if her rights where not followed through. I know the case was beaten on ground of the 4th amendment but if her rights where violated on the grounds of the 5th, and even 14th amendment by the violation of due process of law then that means her case should have been thrown out and the Supreme Courts ruling of adolescents not having the same rights of adults violates a good number of the amendments of the constitution that they are supposed to interpret correctly, equal rights for all.
