If I assasinated someone in the future but told you about it now, can I be arrested?

Its purely hypothetical but what if I said: "I have travelled to the future and killed such and such"
At this moment in time they are still live and well, could I be prosecuted?

yeah u can
gosh these stupid hippies with a dream
OMG these dumb hippies r gona take over the USA as if we arent already having problems with stupid NOBAMA

Yes you can be arrested for conspiring to commit a crime in the future. This is a murky area of law in England, as a group of teenagers who were recently tried for conspiracy to commit murder were acquitted. They wrote about copying the Columbine massacre in America, but the court's view was that it was simply mere fantasy. A muslim woman was also cleared of this charge after she wrote a poem about a suicide bombing. Clearly we can't prosecute someone for writing a poem or a novel about a crime.

But if you publicly stated your intent to commit a crime now, and later actually carried it out, that statement would be good evidence of forward planning, a key element of a murder charge.

I assume you mean can you be arrested for saying that you are going to kill someone in the future?

And you can if there is proof you intend to carry it out.

There are lots of terrorists who are arrested before they actually commit the crime.
