without data plan) would I ...? Would I be able to use the apps such as Facebook using wifi ?? I have one year left of my 3 yr contract and my phone is barely working . I don't pay for my plan and I'm not allowed to get a data plan till my contract is over . Im planning on buying the curve for 249.99 and just putting my sim card in and using the blackberry for texting and calling etc , but when I'm at a wifi hot spot or at hone will I be able to use the apps and browser like how an iPod touch works?
And pls don't say to buy the phone you need a data plan cause I already checked and you can just buy the phone itself and put your own sim card in.

Sure you can but BlackBerry apps such as Facebook, BBM, WLM, Y!M etc and email require a data plan and will not work with wi-fi.

It's up to you.
