If I buy a T-Mobile smartphone...?

If I buy a T-Mobile Smartphone like the new Galaxy S4 would I have to pay 649 or just the 149 plus tax and does the 149 have a contract or no because I don't like contracts and me and my mom both want the new Galaxy S4 but don't want to pay 649 I heard something about T-Mobile and no contract can someone please help because my mother and I want the S4 my sister wants the HTC One and it says 99 dollars is that with a 2 year contract or no someone please answer I'm confused.

If you look crefully at the t-mobile web site, the S4 is $629.99 & the HTC One is $579.99 , but no where do you see the word "contract" ..............

It never says "contract" the HTC One is $100 down & $20 a month for 2 years. Think of this as a loan (like a car loan) , it is not a contract. After 2 years you no longer pay the $20 a month for the phone . So the S4 is $150 down and $20 a month for 2 years or the full $630.

Then you must pay for a phone plan as a separate charge. with a contract you cannot change your plan, this way you can. I hope that clears up your confusion. cheers.
