If I chose to retain my vehicle for salvage, is it required that I fix it in

order to register it as salvage? I crashed my car for and it was declared a total loss. I decided to retain the vehicle for salvage for $300 cause I have a guy that wanted to buy the crashed car for $600. But looking on the website for the CA DMV it talks about how an officer has to inspect my restored car in order to register my car for salvage. My car is not fixed but this guy wants to buy it and fix it. Can I still register my car salvaged in order to sell it? Or do I sell it to him and he has to change the title? I don't know how any of this works. PLEASE HELP!!!
