I'm planning on ordering a Sager 8660 (Clevo M860TU) from xoticpc.com and I was thinking about getting the blue ray drive option. When I looked into it I found that blu ray requires much more power to run, and this can suck the battery power much more quickly.
Does this only apply when actually playing a blu ray disc? Or does it use up more energy overall?
I don't expect the laptop to have amazing battery life, but if it hurts the over all expected battery life with day-to-day computing, I might have to reconsider.
