Doctor/ nurse do? Will they poke me up there?! Will it hurt?! Will I have to have a blood test?!

just tell them you think you might have an infection, they'll ask you some questions like whether you're sexually active, and if you are whether you've had unprotected sex, etc. they'll probably want to swab the inside of your vagina to test it for a bacterial infection. it probably won't hurt (unless the inside of your vagina is swollen or something), it'll just be uncomfortable. there's no need to be embarrassed, the doctor looks at vaginas every day, and has probably seen some in worse shape than yours.
