I know there is something you can do to it. What is it and how and where can you get this done?

HI you can't use your Motorola q mobile with t-mobile sim until you unlock it from AT&T network lock ...You can easily unlock your phone through sites like ClassicUnlocking.com they are rendering unlock code for all mobile models at reliable cost .After unlocking your phone you can freely use it with any GSM sim ...
