...louder? Almost as much as a V8 engine? Cause I have a v6 2wd dakota and I want to really husk it up and make the noise level something nice. Would removing my cadilac converter help and if not what can I do to make my truck louder like a v8?
 
if you remove the converter from it ,it will run like crap and it will be louder ,but you,ll also get a constant check engine light on at all times and you,ll notice a slight loss in power,try adding a better muffler to it rather than cut an expensive piece of the exhaust off it,good luck.
 
Not much louder if at all, the muffler controls the sound, replace the mufflers, don't touch the cat, you risk big fines and won't pass smog checks
