...uTorrent to download torrent files? I just discovered that you can download torrent files in Opera - there's a widget that you can download for Opera that searches torrent sites and then you can download the files rather easily.

I also tried uTorrent but had trouble making it work - I would have had to reconfigure the port settings or something. So, I just uninstalled that program.


So, my question is - if I can use Opera to download torrent files, do I really need a program like uTorrent? Do they share the same network for torrent files (same search results come up regardless if I use uTorrent or Opera)? Because if there's no big difference, I think I'd be happy with just sticking with Opera.

Lastly, does Firefox browser have any similar capability of downloading torrent files like Opera can?

Any torrent file can be opened by any bittorrent program, so yes the selection for Opera would be the same as for uTorrent.
I am not certain if Opera's bittorrent function has to have its port forwarded.

Littleshoot or Wyzo will do this for Firefox, but I think both are in beta.
