I'm trying to lose a little weight and read that fish oil speeds up your metabolism. The fish oil I took yesterday and this morning is called Nature's Bounty Triple Strength Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil (1400mg | 980mg Omega-3). My mom has a few sample packets of them. I'm also taking my regular vitamins with it: One A Day Teen Advantage For Her. Both of them together sounds pretty strong, but I'm not too sure. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about supplements and such. Not quite an expert yet, though.

Your mature, straight-forward answers are appreciated. :)

You can take fish oil. It is very good for you, is has the good fats that help your brain function.

New research analyzing valid previous studies indicate no definitive improvement from fish oil. Better would be eating fish and vegetables. To improve metabolism, if necessary, move more in frequency and endurance. This builds up the circulatory system allowing more blood vessels to carry oxygen to the cells of the body enabling more work to be accomplished with ease rather than becoming quickly tired. Fish oil might thin the blood and might be necessary to be disclosed in case of pending surgery, such as an emergency appendectomy. Therefore, in light of these studies and possible effects, call the doctor or speak to the pharmacist.
