...buy a gun or hunt? Im planning on buying a .22. it will be my first gun but i dont now if i need to take the hunters safety course to buy it or hunt with it. Help please?!!
 
You are old enough to buy a long gun without any Hunters Safety Course but you were born after the date where all hunters must take the HSC prior to hunting in any state. I am not sure how the Feds did it but some time back they got all 50 states to enact a law that said if your were born after a certain date you have to have HSC to purchase any kind of hunting license. I forget the date but think it was in the early mid 1970s. Anyone born after that date must have a HSC Card to purchase any kind of hunting license.
 
You are old enough that it is not required, but I would suggest some kind of safety training
 
in Wisconsin, u need it to hunt and here u can shoot ur gun on privet property, 50 yards from om the street and 100 yards from a house.
