I'm getting married in August. It's February. When should I start planning?

I don't want to be overwhelmed come July when I have a million and one things to do. We're getting married roughly 6 months from now, and haven't made any preparations yet. We're going to have a non-religious wedding. So, we've set a date and have a general format. Can someone help me plan, because the clock is ticking. There will be over about 100 people at the wedding. Ideas?

Fool,

You should have started planning months ago. You at the very least need to get a venue booked for the reception ASAP as all the good places get booked fast. Also, stuff like caterers and photographers need to be booked fast too.

Finding a wedding site and a reception venue on the same day 6 months in advance (if your planning a Friday or Saturday wedding) will be very difficult to book at this point. You really need to get on it.

You better start asap because you will have to be super organized. Be prepared for most venues and vendors that you want to already be booked because they require that you do that at least a year or more in advance.

After you set your date, figure out your budget and guestlist, book your venue(s) asap. Then book the caterer, photographer, dj, florist. Order your invites. Get your dress asap.
