I'm having BlackBerry Issues.. Pleasee Help!?

I have the BlackBerry Curve 8320 and where it usually shows the amount of bars of service I have, all day its been saying, "SOS" like it does when i dont get service.. Customer Care couldn't help me with the problem. I NEED my phone to work because I'm expecting some very important calls.. if you can help me please do!
Do you know if i got a new sim card if i would need a new number?
 
Firstly, do a hard reset (pull the battery).

If that doesn't work, go out of town and drive around a little and see if you've got service that way.

Go to a T-Mobile store and get a new SIM card.

Reset the entire BlackBerry (which reinstalls everything; I don't recall how, you'd have to look that up).
