OK, so I backed out of an app by clicking the Home Button. When it went to the home screen, it just suddenly froze. Any buttons that I pressed didn't have any effect on it. I couldn't slide from screen to screen or anything. Completely frozen. So, I tried to plug it into the charger, and then it suddenly just opened up a random screen in the Internet browser. It just strangely opened up to a page I had viewed a week or two ago. And now a little circle wheel thingy is perpetually spinning in the middle as if it's about to turn off... but it isn't shutting off. And again, any buttons or touch doesn't do anything. I've tried to hold down the power button and THAT hasn't worked. So... any ideas? Thanks so much!!

Wrong category. Try Cell Phones & Plans: http://answers.yahoo.com/dir/index;_ylt=Arqc5RszgsJDRzXwd9p0ZIsjzKIX;_ylv=3?sid=396545653

There are two ways that I know how to fix it:
1.) Hold the lock button down for 10 seconds and then press and hold the home button (along with the lock button) down for 10 more seconds after.

Or

2.) Plug the phone into the computer and at the same time press and hold the home button down!

*I hope this helps. My iPod freezes all the time and that's what I found will help. If not just do a general search in google and say "My iPhone 3G is frozen" and you will find help there!
