why dont you put something like that and say something about the different viewpoints etc

This question would be a lot easier to answer if you told us whether it was a persuasive speech or an informative speech. (and if it is a persuasive speech, whether you are pro or con.) So I'll just give you general advice.
The introduction should tell the audience what you are going to speak about. Briefly mention the general points that you are going to expand on later.
