for a scene in a movie. Any advice? I'm directing and producing an action/comedy movie, and as part of the climax, we enter a car chase scene. Most of this will be filmed on roads that have little or no traffic, so I'm fine with that, however, there is this one scene where the main character (played by me), while being pursued, jumps over a set of railroad tracks in his (Ranger-sized) pickup truck. I don't plan on going mach 90 over the tracks, but is there anything I should know before attempting such a stunt? The truck is fully functional, it has new suspension, tires, brakes, the motor has been taken care of, and everything is on the up and up. I'll be wearing safety equipment (i.e. helmet and a seat belt) and this is not a heavy traffic road, so I don't have to worry about that.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
You gotta keep in mind (And it's my fault I neglected to mention it) I'm just a high school student, doing this with equipment I borrowed from my school video productions department. Money's a little tight, so I don't have the cash to pay for Stunt drivers. Therefore, I do it myself, with my own vehicle. This way, if I get hurt, nobody gets sued.
By the way, JIM, thanks for all your help. Not.
