...Read Below Pleasee (:? Can Quakers eat a cockatiel mix? It was food for both my conure and cockatiel, would it be okay for a quaker? Are they good pets? "Cuddly", friendly, happy, what? What are they like? Would it be a good pet for a family of four-(mom,dad,13 year old,15 year old) Do they bite hard? Harder than a conure? Have they ever drawn blood? How good of talkers are they? How much can they say? Would a small, cockatiel cage suit them? How do you keep them from escaping? Would it be harmful to have dogs running around with them? Do you get them from a petstore or breeder? And don't worry, they are legal where I live I checked (: Tell me every single detail you can think of. Thanks so much for your time (: Please answer seriously for mee !
When I say "cuddly" I'm talking about for example my conure would let me scratch his belly and he would kiss my cheek and I could pet his back hold him like a baby and stuff. And the cage was fitting for a sun conure and cockatiel. It's not that small. http://www.birdscomfort.com/Image/playtop_small_bird_cages.jpg That's probably the closest I can find that is similar to our cage. I think our is wider, though. Would that do?

Pet birds in general are not cuddly, friendly, happy beings, but some individual ones are. You get out of them what you put into them, that means several hours a day of attention. They can be as loud as a conure, and just as annoying. They can easily draw blood when they bite. A small cockatiel cage will be way too small for them, think largest cage you can afford to buy. Dogs won't bother them too much. They don't live on seed alone, expect to feed them cooked rice, pellets, fruits, vegetables, etc on a daily basis. Scrupulous hygiene is essential for the cage and surrounding areas. Overheated non-stick cookware gives off a gas which can kill your bird. Keep them out of the kitchen and drafty areas. Birds usually choose one person they like and either ignore or try to harm the other family members. They live a long time so you have to commit to a lifetime with them.
