Im trying to share the files between mybox? PC and X?

Ive connected them with an Ethernet cable and gone into Media player and allowed my xbox to share but when I go onto my xbox is showing nothing there, why wont it share on my xbox and in which folder should the files be in to allow the xbox to pick them up?
