Jenny noticed Jill standing alone with a glass of soda. She didn’t know whether to sit or stand, she was glad Kate enjoyed their friendship otherwise she’d never be invited to such a fancy party. Jenny felt pressured to choose who to mingle with, the house was practically divided. She had a reputation to keep, if she wanted to talk to the regular people she had to be sly. Jenny walked by a bald well dressed business man spoke seriously with his associate about hiring a secretary for their busy office.
“Hey Jill, where’s Kate?”
Jolene looked through the dim lit yard. “She was sitting next to the Jacuzzi a minute ago.”
“Oh, I’ll go look in the front of the house.”
