Impossible Unanswerable Riddle?

3 men check into a hotel, its 30$ a night, so they split it 10, 10 , 10. After they go up to there room, the manager asks the doorman if he told them it was only 25$ tonight. He says no, and the manager says take 5$ up to their room and split it evenly like they paid for the room. The doorman claimed that he couldn't split 5$ to 3 men evenly so he said that he should get 2$ and give them 1$ back each. After he gave the money back, each men theoretically paid only 9$ (10-1).
Follow this math:
3 men times 9$ = 27$
27$ plus the 2$ the doorman kept = ONLY 29$
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER DOLLAR????
 
ofcourse it's answerable. the equation is a fake - a distraction rather. the doorman has $5 he took the $2 leaving $3 to the three.
