In Karate Kid 3 the guy Daniel is fighting is constantly yelling stuff like "Your karate is $hit!. He never taught you anything. Your karate is $hit!" I kept expecting him the get disqualified but he didn't. Is it allowed to curse at and taunt your opponent, even classifying their karate as "$hit?"

NO....when you are in a tournament you must treat it exactly like your dojo that you train in...respect yourself and those around you at all times even those you are in competition with.

taunting is allowed as it is up to you weather or not you react to it.

but any self respecting referee would not tolerate swearing.

hope this helps.

No.

You CAN taunt, but that is it. Such as waving arms, droppeing guard, motioning for the opp to move forward etc.....

If you curse, or use disrespectful words you can get docked points.

When I fought Muay Thai, and now when I fight MMA this is one of the rules. Respect your opp at all times.

There are some tournament circuits out there that have no honor, respect or any idea that martial arts goes beyond simply winning. These circuits include NBL, NASKA and FAME to name a few. They want people to talk smack, taunt and be disrespecftul in the hopes of flashing it up for the crowd but in reality they have just shown the bad side to martial arts.

Had it been a good, traditional tournament circuit like the PKC, WKF or others the person would have been disqualified right off the bat for such childishness.
