I have a 24-hour layover in Narita, Japan on April 10. I will be going out of the airport to rest at my uncle's house in Tokyo. Will my passport be stamped (or otherwise, I heard, installed with a sticker) in the immigration? Do I need a transit visa? If it won't be stamped, can I request for it to be stamped so I can have a proof in my passport that I have stepped on Japanese soil?

I'm an American citizen holding a US passport.
