In your opinion, do you think horses have a sense of humor?

I find this to be a really interesting topic. So many people insist horses are not capable of having a sense of humor, while others insist that they can and do.

Opinions? :)

Watch my dad's old horse chase his mother and the other horses around the pasture with a tarp in his mouth and tell me horses don't know funny.
I 100% believe that horses have a sense of humor. It's just different. They're the quiet types. :]

Horses are Livestock, do other livestock like a cow have a sense of humor? I have never seen a horse laugh, or giggle so not in the sense you are thinking about or they would be bursting out laughing every time you got dumped off saying to them selves look at that dummy.

Totally off topic, but you don't happen to have that avatar on TheDailyNeopets.. do you? /end off topic

Anyway, Yes, they DEFINITELY have a sense of humour, more than some people imagine. My Fever actually pulls little jokes/prank type things on me, like faking me out when I'm turning. They have a mind, too, just like humans

Yes definitely, from nodding their head in their stalls when you ask them questions or looking at you funny on crossties while you brush them, nudging you when you're talking to your friends or nipping you when you aren't paying attention, and doing numerous other naughty things they know that they aren't supposed to and know they run the risk of being repremanded.

I honestly think they have a sick and twisted sense of humor at times, which is why horses and I get along so well.

Call me crazy but I think they do. My horse gets a kick out of my reaction when he knocks things off their shelves ;)

I think they are, however, I don't think they are aware of it, if you can understand what I'm saying. My horse when he mirrors me, he loves to get a reaction. Because when I laugh he whinnies and when we all laugh he gets excited. So I think he likes being entertaining to a crowd or just me. So yes I do.

I think so.

They certainly know when they are not supposed to do something, and do it anyway, just to spite you. They will wait until your back is turned to do it.

They always will prefer swiped food to free easy to get food. If they can reach feed or hay in the next stall, or get their nose in another horse\s feed bucket, they will always eat that first.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. They all know that one.

Their sense of humour is different from ours, but they have a sense of humour in their own way.

Mine most definitely do! They enjoy doing things, knowing that they really shouldnt, but they smirk after. They enjoy doing it, and are really happy then.
