Install alarm system myself or let a professional?

I just purchased a new car (for me it is new at least... it is a 2004 Kia Optima LX) and it does not have a car alarm. Audio Express is what people have recommended. But I am wondering if it is a difficult task to accomplish on my own. I have little experience with cars, but I learn very fast and I am super independent. If it is a low/med level of installation I know I can do it. But is it worth it in the long run? I have NO EXPERIENCE at all in the alarm area. Any advice is helpful.
