installing divx isn't working...help?

i will try to use divx player to watch a movie online but it won't let me access anything because it say's on the screen where the movie is supposed to play that there is a missing plug-in. when i try to install it from their website, it still say's that there is a missing plug-in. plus, when i try to open up the divx file on my computer, an error message pops up saying that one of the components did not install correctly. what do i do? please help!
 
You're going to install software directly from a shady website that is showing currently in theatre movies?

First, I'd install Divx directly from the Divx website. If it still asks you to install Divx, then you should find another website. You should also scan for viruses.
