k, so im planning to buy a Challenger in the spring. im not just buying it because im like (hey i need a car. this will do) im a Challenger fanatick. basically, im a little worried about the insurance, because iv got a big enough down payment to get the monthly payments down to about $335. but the insurance quote i got today was about $315 a month. its pretty obvious where the problem is. my mother has an 07 Explorer, and right now im on her policy so i can drive it. but would it be possible to put the insurance for the Explorer in my name, and the Challenger in her name, since its going to be financed in her name anyway. so it would bring the price down a little, and i would pay it, and she keep paying on the Explorer. cuz obviously, a 19 year old with a speeding ticket on his record is going to be paying out the wazoo for insurance on a Challenger. the quote i got on the Explorer was still high, but alot less than the Challenger. i figure it would probably come out about the same.

iv heard that the insurance has to be in the persons name that owns/drives the car daily. but if its financed in her name, whos to say it isnt hers? it would be the same as me being on her policy now, right?

anyways, any advice would be appreciated
would we be able to have me on her policy on the Challenger and have the explorer in my name too?

all of this is just way out of my jurisdiction. im so confused
