Interesting and creative topics for 11th grade research project?

I am in 11th grade and we have to do a research project and it can be about anything we want, but it cant be in other countries if that makes sense. and i cant think of a topic that would be fun to write about. ideas?
for example: my friend is doing her paper on beard trends. its called beards: a whiskery. so any ideas for me? thanks!
