I'm a current high school student who is gifted and highly interested in both music and in science. I play sax, clarinet, piano, bass, and I sing. As far as science goes, I'm especially interested in chemistry and physics. I've always thought that being a musician is all I've ever wanted to do, but as I'm doing more in the science world, I've discovered that I would like to maybe also pursue a career as a pharmacist. I don't want to "just keep music as a hobby", I want it to also be a career.
My main questions arise in college programs:
1.) How does one become a pharmacist? Is it simply a B.S. program in pharmacology, or is it a Master's program you attend after recieving a B.S. in something relevant, in my case, probably chemistry.
2.) Since I'm aspiring to go to a conservatory, I'm aware of co-op programs with Harvard\New England Conservatory and Johns Hopkins\Peabody, and also of the possibility of just going to a smaller liberal arts college with reputable programs in both music and chemistry\physics. Are you aware of any other programs like this in the Mid-Atlantic\Northeast region?
Thank you!!
