Interesting Paranormal Topics?

I have a paper to write on the subject of the paranormal vs science.
I need a topic on something paranormal that has a strong following of people who believe it is a paranormal happening, as well as a following of people (scientists) who believe these happenings can be proven false.

It cannot be about a mythical creature (i.e. Bigfoot, Chupacabra, Loch Ness Monster). Creatures like Dopplegangers are ok.

It cannot be about Aliens.

It can be about ghosts but it needs to focus on something about ghosts.

I'm looking for something different but also something that has research to back it up.

A little explanation about the paranormal topic you suggest would be greatly appreciated :-)

Besides ghosts, one of my favorite paranormal topics is spontaneous human cumbustion, SHC. One good reference is Fire From Heaven. Because the human body is so complex, long- lived, able to consume so many types of food and medicines, this supports my belief that SHC is a real event and not sensationalism or ordinary fire. Best wishes.
 
Here are a couple of topics you could do and I'm sorry but I am not going to explain them:
Indigo children, astral projection, OBE, etheric projection, auras, spirit guides, demons, the different dimensions ( this is more scientific but if you pick this you can also include some things about how to reach those different dimensions), crystals, ancient artifacts such as the stone henge or the pyramids why they were built and stuff...
I hope you can pick a good topic although I preffer astral projection, auras and indigo children as your project topic.
