I am going to do a 15 minute presentation on a topic about the polar regions (Arctic or Antarctic). Any recommendations of interesting topics?

Depends on whether you're more interested in the history, physics, biology or politics of the polar regions. Here are some ideas in each of those categories:

Discovery and history of the magnetic poles.

Auroras (myth and science).

What other wildlife and plant life (besides polar bears and penguins) thrive in the polar regions, and how do they survive?

Treaties governing the polar regions and recent challenges to those agreements.
