I was hoping that you can assist me with a problem I have with my gauges and digital display of my Honda civic 2005 model (gli, sedan). I bought the car three days ago from a dealer and was very happy with it till last night when I encountered a problem with the car and am now very concerned. When I started the car, all the gauges (e.g. temperature, km/h, fuel, etc) and the odometer/trip computer were not working. The "hands" of the gauges were all at zeros and the digital display for the odometer/trip computer was blank (both when the vehicle is stationary and when I was driving it home). However, as mentioned, I could still start the car and drive, and the lights (e.g. indicator lights, immobilizer green key light, abs, airbag etc) on the dashboard were working. At that point, our guess was that there might have been a blown out fuse and decided that we will check the fuses this morning. Surprisingly, when I started the car in the morning, all the gauges including the odometer/trip computer were working. So far, all the gauges and odometer are still working. I am particularly concerned because this seems to be an intermittent problem and I will be very upset if the problem recurs beyond the 3 months statutory warranty dealers are obliged to provide to buyers. Can fuses cause intermittent problems? Could there be some other bigger issues causing this problem? wiring issues? Please advise. Appreciate it.
