Ok I have had a lot of trouble with my internet since I got it. That was almost 4 years ago. The past two years has been fine and great though.
It disconnects randomly and only for like 10 seconds or so, then reconnects. It is spontaneous and I can't seem to find the cause. When it does DC if I load up my internet explorer or Mozilla, a page comes up, gateway.2wire.net and asks me if I wish to reboot the system or view technician details.
Under the details it lists a few varied details, such as the PPPoE, PPPoA or Direct IP connection, speed, and the ISP connection.
I have bought a new modem, router, and new cat 5 cables, checked my connections, and now when I diagnose/repair it, it says, Network connectivity problem, OR it will say
"You might need to set up with this networks ISP (Internet Service Provider) to get access to the internet.
And I click it and it pulls me up to the microsoft.com webpage, but i dont know why, At&t/bellsouth is my ISP.
I have had several technicians in the past look at this and they have fixed my connection issues by lowering my connection speed, putting a hard line in, and getting me a new router/modem setup.
I am lost for solutions. Please help me.
Also, I was wondering, can I fix, or better my connection at all if I go into the network and sharing center and set up my own broadband connection?
