Internet suddenly gone slow?

Last night i was on the internet and it was really good and fast. I then downloaded AVG with its toolbar and and done a scan. From that point on it has been slow. I have uninstalled AVG and the toolbar and i have done a system restore to yesterday, before i had AVG. My computer is fast but the internet is really slow. MSN is running fine, and i have only 2 conversations open. Im using one firefox browser with 3 tabs. No other programs running. Theres 55 processes running but i dont know what to close. How can i speed it up again?

There are too many variables to take into consideration for your slow internet .

1. Distance you are from Exchange.
2. Condition of equipment, how up to date it is including the Exchange.
3. Age and condition of wiring, joins, corrosion in the system.
4. Line noise. Will affect it badly.
5. How heavily your exchange is subscribed to.
6. How many people are on at any one time.
Any combination of those will drag your speed down.,,

2. Control Bandwidth Usage
3. Free-Up Temporary Directories
4. Optimize your Internet Settings
5. Update Microsoft Silverlight.
