I have had my female Hermann's tortoise for 6 years now, and my sister has decided that she now wants a tortoise. She also want a female Hermann's tortoise, so there is no chance of breding or diseases from different species. Im just wondering, if there is any chance of infections spreading between the two? And how we should introduce them to each other anyway?

The tortoise that i currently have, spends her time in the garden (when its warm), in the house (when its either cold or wet) and spends the night in a cardboard box with straw in. She occasionally goes in her heated enclosure as well, but i find that she dislikes being in there as she always bangs against the walls, and she rarely needs it anyway. This second tortoise would probably have a very similar lifestyle, so the only times they would meet is when they are in the garden or in the house.
