The new semester has began, while other high school students carrying a heavy bag into school, most high school in America have let their students replace their heavy school bags and books with Apple iPad. No matter electronic textbooks or related materials or online resource, they all can be obtained in iPad. Since Apple iPad has launched iPad in the spring of 2010, this Tablet PC was welcomed by many universities in American in a short time, and from this autumn, more public schools have joined this queue, abandoning the traditional teaching, utilizing light and powerful iPad.


Compared with traditional textbooks, cost $ 500 to buy an iPad, is a better long-term investment, but those courses that don’t have e-learning materials, school still use the traditional textbook. Of course, they have calculated the cost about replace traditional textbooks with iPad, and it’s cheaper with iPad. Except for cheaper cost, another reason why iPad is suitable for school is their powerful functions. Some educators believe that iPad has lots of functions that traditional textbooks don’t have, like solving mathematical problems with an interactive way, and the convenient scratch pad and bookmarks to take notes, send the test papers and homework to teacher very quickly, and watch videos about historical events to deepen students’ impression.
For those special education teachers, it has much better efficiency to communicate with those kids who have autism and learning disorders via iPad, cos it’s easier to express themselves through visual image than communicate face to face. Advocates believe that, iPad e-learning is an interactive way, which more suitable for today’s students, because for them, the electronic device is part of their life, not mention mobile phones or something, every high school kids want iPad, and now school provide this hot thing to them, why wouldn’t them want it? So, get students’ support is an easy issue. Also there is always different voice, some scholar says even students has the most modern equipment, they still needs a scientific curriculum development and experienced teachers. As the saying goes, music is not piano; similarly, learning is not the device.


And more, there is something else that iPad can do, such as chatting, playing games, listening to music or watch videos, so who can guarantee that students are studying with iPad not playing something else, now that school is the one who provides iPad to students, there is no doubt that it should make some strategy to make sure students use iPad in a right way, to educate their teachers in addition to their students so that the tablets could be fully utilized, to make the tablets into something more than just a technological toy, which meant blocking YouTube and helping students to focus, rather than letting them talk about the best dvd to ipad software to enjoy free videos with ipad or mac video to ipad or something else.
The whole world has been changed with the development of technology, you keep up with it or you will be weeded out. As to Apple, its contribution to us is tremendous, not just school has taken it as teaching device, and the army or airline or companies, they all have or be ready to import technical products like iPad. So don’t be spoffish.
