I recently was given someone else's old iPhone 3. I plan on just using it as an iPod touch without the calling/texting features. The first 2-3 days it was fine, now it's having all sorts of issues. When I turn it on it will freeze on the opening screen with the white apple image. And if it doesn't stay on that screen it will tell me I need to activate it and plug it into itunes, but when I plug it in nothing happens and it stays on that screen. Sometimes, when plugged in in that mode it will just restart, go back to the apple screen for a while, then prompt me to plug into itunes again. The rare few times it will actually open normally the wifi hasn't been working, and sometimes it'll just restart and go back to one of the two previously mentioned issues. Does anyone know why this is happening, and what to do? The previous owner said he never had these issues.
I've tried a hard reset, and it hasn't changed anything, when I turn it back on, it goes back to the frozen apple icon.
