iphone 3gs water damage wont charge?

I wouldn't say you're out of luck but you may want to try putting your phone in a bag of rice. Sounds silly but it works and has been proven to dry it out. Also you should just let it sit for a few hours in sunlight and that should do the trick, of not then the water got to your mother board and unfortunately, you are out of luck. Unless you go to an apple genius bar
 
my iphone got wet and seemed to be working fine, in fact other than a couple of little spots on the screen you would never be able to tell it got wet. until i went to charge it. i waited til my battery was almost dead to charge it, plugged it into the wall and when i checked it an hour later it was almost dead. i hooked it up to my laptop and no charging. is there a simple fix for this or am i out of luck?
