iPhone 4 signal problem?

I just bought an iPhone 4 and I'm having the signal problem. I have a tendency to hold my phone in the way that the signal gets blocked. Are there any new solutions to this, and is Apple still giving away the free bumper cases?
I tried a bunch of solutions on the internet none work
