Iphone 4G - waiting for activation?

I just got a new Iphone 4G, I hooked it up to my computer and it works. But it says no service. It also says "Waiting for activation - This may take some time." So does that mean If I just wait for a while it will work or do I need to do some thing? Thanks!!(:

I had an Iphone 3G before so I have the iphone plan and everything already.
 
did you add the iphone internet plan ? if not the iphone wont work , unless you get it unlocked which cost 30 dollars or more
