...you know... if the parent really can't afford it.
My husband's ex is constantly asking for more money because what he gives her once a month apparently isn't enough (I think her income as a new nurse plus the monthly money transfers of almost $3,000.00 in alimony and child support is plenty).

I think the iphone thing is absolutely ridiculous especially if she's begging for more money.

I object.

no, i'm 15, and i don't have any type of cell phone or iPod! my parents can't afford stuff like that, and i have no problem with it. you said 'if the parent can't really afford it'. well why would you buy anything you can't afford?

Yes, definitely two young. I mean I wouldn't even buy something like that for myself. If a 13 year-old is going to have a cell phone it should be a basic pre-paid phone.

yes! and she gets 3,000??? i wouldn't even give her that if she's a nurse! nurses make a lot of money and if she can't afford an iphone, she shouldn't be buying one, a 13 year old doesn't need one. i'm 21 and have never had an iphone, cuz it's not that necessary! i can live w/ a regular cell phone.

I think so. I have a few friends who are 13 and have iPhones. I believe it is ridiculous. No 13 year old should even own something that is/was $500 at one point.

Yes, it's too young.
Not only does a child have no need for that amount of technology, the cost is somewhat prohibitive.
Things are easily stolen, damaged or lost when in a child's hands, and as far as I'm concerned it's too much responsibility for a kid.

I don't think its too young *if* the person can get the money to buy it theirself.
I am not old either, I'm 15.

Uhm, yes.

I'm 17, but I travel all over the midwest/east coast with horses, so it's also my Macbook when I'm on the road.

A 13 year old does NOT even need a cellphone... btw...

if the parent cant afford it not hey shouldnt have it unless you pay for it your self

yes, definitely too young to have an iphone.
An iphone is basically a mini computer...13 year olds don't need little computers to carry around with them everywhere.
None of this should even matter if the parents can't afford it anyway.

I'm 13 and I want a iPhone 4. I'm debating on whether to ask my parents??? Should I?:emot0:
