Is Blu-ray going to become the new DVD?

I thought it's like when we all had VCRs and then DVD players come out so then only DVDs were sold and now there's Blu-ray. Do you think it will become the new DVD? haha just wondering...
 
Maybe, Blu-Ray players currently cost like $1000.00 right now but if you get a PS3 you would be saving $300.00. CD's did outsell vinyl records and DVD's sold out regular video tapes so I guess we will have to wait and see.
