A couple of years ago, I came across the book "don't go to cosmetics counter without me"; it's a book that contains skincare advise and product reviews by a skincare expert named Paula Begoun. Since then, I have been following Paula's advice and using the products she recommends. One of her main points was never to use products that contain alcohol, menthol, and always wear sunscreen etc. I noticed a great improvement in my skin after I started following her.
A few days ago, I stumbled upon cosmeticsdatabase.com where I found out that I almost everything I use is toxic in someway or another; they cause cancer, allergies, hormonal changes, toxic to the organs, you name it! Even my contact lenses solution contains some harmful ingredients.
My question is: do you know if these websites are based on scientific research or merely speculations or unwarranted studies? Unlike cosmetics companies, cosmeticsdatabase.com does not sell any products, so what would it gain by publishing faulty reviews?
